Renwa Yassin is a young Lebanese designer who grew up on Ivory Coast. Her dual culture is showcased back and forth in her designs as she adds elements from the two countries, which constitute her identity.
Infusing her creations with a special touch, the born in Africa designer with Lebanese origins is striving to build a strong and lasting relationship between her dual culture and fashion.
Yassin explores fashion as a way to build a bridge between Lebanon and Ivory Coast, using elements borrowed from both the African and the Mediterranean environments.
In 2019, she decided to enhance her creative multi-cultural expression and founded her namesake fashion brand, RĒNWA YASSĪN, creating wardrobes of innovative cuts and subtle cross-cultural inspirations.
The brand is “the key to enhancing creative conversations leading to a more sustainable way of working in the fashion industry,” she expressed. Hence, she promotes the industry with eco-designs produced by local artisans and weavers in ateliers located in Abidjan and Beirut.
RĒNWA YASSĪN also uses materials such as the raffia, which originates from palm trees, organic cotton, linen, Tencel, recycled polyester, as well as coloring done by natural products like fruits, plants, and vegetables.
In July 2022, Renwa Yassin was featured as Finalist for the 2022 Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) Prize in the Ready-to-Wear category.
Along with the other 23 emerging designers from the region, she is preparing to showcase her works in front of the FTA jury in October 2022.
Nowadays, Renwa’s stunning creations are featured in major fashion and lifestyle magazines, such as Vogue Arabia, Grazia Middle East, and Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, which deem her a great emerging talent.
